WEST PARIS -- Myra Crosby, 86, a resident of Ledgeview Nursing Home for nearly five years, formerly of Congress Street, Rumford, died on March 1, 2013.

She was born Sept. 27, 1926 in New Bedford, MA, a daughter of John and Dorothy (Vinal) Ashworth. She received her education in New Bedford schools, graduating in 1944 from the New Bedford Vocational High School.

A longtime resident of New Bedford, she was a nursery school teacher aid for the West End Day Nursery, Inc. in New Bedford for 22 years.

She was a member of the Mexico Congregational Church and of the Rebekah Lodge and enjoyed being in the company of her family.

She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Ashworth of New Bedford, MA; and Alice Ashworth of Peru (Worthley Pond); and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her three brothers, Raymond Ashworth of North Dighton, MA, Richard Ashworth of Plymouth, MA and Rev. Ronald Ashworth of Mexico.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday from the Mexico Congregational Church with Rev. Izzy Radford-Nash and Rev. John Gensel co-officiating. Following services, all are invited to a family reception at the Arsenault Family Home at 400 Backkingdom Rd., Mexico.
