Janice K. Day
AUBURN -- Janice K. Day, 69, of Rumford, passed peacefully on May 26, 2013, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, following a long illness.
She was born November 17, 1943, in Newport, VT, a daughter of Raymond and Doris (Burns) Jewett. She received her education in Oxford and Norway schools and was employed in local shoe shops in Norway as well as Wilner's Wood Products of S. Paris.
She was a devoted wife and mother and attended the Assembly of God Church, Rumford. She enjoyed painting, wood working and wood carving and made a beautiful hand carved cane for her husband, Roger Day Sr., who survives her, of Rumford. The Day family will miss her dearly.
She is also survived by two daughters, Vicki Day and April Day, both of Wilton, and "adopted daughter" Penny Brelsford of Jay; one son, Martin Day of Lewiston; three sisters, Brenda Caro of S. Paris, Mallady Haven of Friendship and Carol Gary of Rumford; two brothers, Jeffery Burns of Maine and Terry Burns of Norway.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Roger Day, Jr.; and a grandson, Stevie Day.
