Anita Downs

CANTON -- Anita Downs, 72, of Canton, passed away on Nov. 6, 2012 from complications of cerebral palsy, surrounded by her husband and a very special friend.

She was born on April 24, 1940, the daughter of Thomas Raymond and Laura Guimond Raymond of Fort Kent. Anita was raised in Frenchville.

Anita married Herbert Downs on April 1, 1991 in Mechanic Falls. She has worked and participated in activities at Pottle Works in Mechanic Falls and the Progress Center in Norway.

She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, yard sales and Special Olympics.

Anita is survived by her husband of Canton, and a very special friend, Andrea Harmon of Turner.
