Lawrence T. Dow
RUMFORD -- Lawrence T. Dow, 80, of Hancock Street in Rumford passed away unexpectedly on July 16, 2011 at Rumford Hospital.
He was born on August 22, 1930 in Bridgewater, the son of Glen and Faye Terrell Dow.
Lawrence attended schools in Bridgewater and Brooks and was a graduate of Mexico High School Class of 1949. Following graduation, he served four years in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War.
He was employed at Boise Cascade for 40 years, and was a member of the 25 and 40 Year Club.
He was a member of the V.F.W., Le Paresseux Snowshoe Club, American Legion, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Lawrence enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid sports fan.
He is survived by his children, Kelly Blouin and husband, Michael of Dixfield, Brenda Godin of Manchester, MO, Steve Dow of Melbourne, FL, Cleo Dow of Dixfield, Ric Lavoie of Eaton, GA and Holly Dow; a sister, Laura Jamison; a sister-in-law, Rowena Nickless; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was predeceased his parents; his beloved wife, Eleanor (Tozier) Dow; and a brother, Llewelyn.
His family would like to thank the staff at Rumford Hospital.
Graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 1 p.m. July 20, 2011 at Farrington-Morton Cemetery in Mexico.
