Lawrence T. Dow
RUMFORD -- Lawrence T. Dow, 80, of Hancock Street in Rumford passed away unexpectedly on July 16, 2011 at Rumford Hospital.
He was born on August 22, 1930 in Bridgewater, the son of Glen and Faye Terrell Dow.
Lawrence attended schools in Bridgewater and Brooks and was a graduate of Mexico High School Class of 1949. Following graduation, he served four years in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War.
He was employed at Boise Cascade for 40 years, and was a member of the 25 and 40 Year Club.
He was a member of the V.F.W., Le Paresseux Snowshoe Club, American Legion, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, New England Patriots and NASCAR.
He is survived by his four daughters, Brenda Godin of Missouri, Kelly Blouin and her husband, Mike, Cleo Dow and Holly Dow; a son, Steve Dow and his finacee, Donna of Florida; two sisters, Laura Jamison and Rowena Nickless; nine grandchildren, Sonie Robinson and her husband, Josh, Michelle Blouin, Justin Godin, John Wesley, Jeff Dow, Danielle Blouin, Tiffany Dow, Casey Godin and Jeremy Dow; a great-grandchild, Ellie Robinson; and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; beloved wife, Eleanor Tozier Dow; and a brother, Llewelyn.
