Cheryl Lynn Dudley (Gallant), R.N., BSN
SILVER SPRING, MD -- Cheryl Lynn Dudley (Gallant), R.N., BSN, 56, of Silver Spring, MD, passed away peacfully on May 23, 2013 at the Holy Cross Hospital after a long illness.
She was born in Rumford on July 4, 1956, the daughter of Edgar and Janice (Giambattista) Gallant. She attended local schools, graduating from Rumford High School in the Class of 1974. She went on and earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Saint Joseph's College in 1978.
On July 12, 1985, she married her best friend, Gregory Dudley, and together they raised their two daughters.
She worked at hospital in Maine, Massachusetts and Colorado in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and later taught Nursing for the Emily Griffith Opportunity School, and Denver School of Nursing in Colorado. Her greatest joy and love was spending time with family and being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to those around her.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Gregory Dudley; two daughters, Jessica Dudley and Jennifer Dudley, and Jessica's fiancee, Keon Davis, all of Silver Spring; mother, Janice Gallant of Rumford; mother-in-law, Venda Dudley of Derry, NH; granddaughter, Annalise; sister, Brenda Ferguson and husband, Doug of Pittsfield; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Nathaniel and Prenzial Dudley of Fayetteville, NC, Ronald and Valarie Dudley of Derry, NH, Michael and Cristine Dudley of Berwick, Randy
Dudley of Revere, MA; nephews, Lucas, Chad, Austin, Christian and Ian; her nieces, Molly, Sadie, Vehleshia, Chyna, Sierra, Alexandra and Jordan; and great-niece, Vehianna.
Cheryl was predeceased by her beloved father, Edgar J. Gallant; and grandparents, Kitan and Mae Giambattista.
