AUBURN -- Germaine Ellis, 79, of Auburn, formerly of Canton, died on Nov. 18, 2012 at Clover Manor in Auburn.

She was born in Audet, Province of Quebec, Canada, July 27, 1933, a daughter of Albert and Maria (Vallerand) Bilodeau.

Mrs. Ellis was a hard worker, having been employed at DeCoster’s, GH Bass, and also private house-keeping as well as cleaning the Canton Town Hall.

On Dec. 19, 1974, she married Albert Ellis and they made their home in Canton for many years, before moving to Schooner Estates in Auburn. He died Sept. 29, 2008.

Mrs. Ellis enjoyed gardening, sewing, and keeping her house neat and clean.

She is survived by her sons, Michael “Mike” Fleury and his wife, Barbara of Poland Springs, and Roger Fleury of Rumford; sisters, Mary Jane Turgeon of Montreal and Therese Lemieux of Rodham, PQ; grandchildren, Audra Fleury of Winslow, Erica and David Beverly of Ft. Riley, KS, and their daughter Olivia Simone Beverly; step-granddaughters, Jessica Young of Long Beach, CA and Vanessa Parlin of Winthrop; step-grandson, Peter Young of Pebody, MA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Lilly; brothers, Maurice and Edmund Bilodeau; and a sister, Simone Couture.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Schooner Estates, Clover Manor, and Dr. Singh for the care received by Germaine.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 42 Weld St., Dixfield. Private interment will be at the Canton Pine Grove Cemetery in Canton.
