Franklin D. Gammon
RUMFORD -- Franklin D. Gammon, 67, of Andover, died on December 12, 2012 at the Rumford Hospital. He was a resident of Andover.
Born in Rumford on May 11, 1945, he was a son of Ira and Mary (Lufkin) Gammon Sr. He attended local schools.
He owned and operated F.D. Gammon and Sons Logging. He enjoyed pulling oxen at agricultural fairs. He represented Maine in the International Ox Pulling Competition where he won first prize. He enjoyed watching westerns on TV, dancing, and taking rides with his daughter, Chris for a coffee. In 2003, he started a herd of buffalo.
Survivors include two sons, Adam and his wife, Stephanie of Rumford and their children, Tanna, Adam, Mariya and Carl; Stacy and his wife, Cindy of Andover and their children, Lacey, Lauren and Lisa; daughters, Emily Bodemer and her husband, Dennis of Rockwood and their children, Coleman and Logan, Christina Gammon and her companion, Mark McCollough of Rumford and daughter, Summer; two great-grandchildren, Brooke and MacKenzie; two sisters, Mary Bailey of Andover and Marilyn White of Andover; a brother, Clifford Gammon of Peru.
He was predeceased by siblings, Warren, Milan, Chester and Ira, Jr., Gammon, Marion Gordon, Elaine Akers, June Hutchins; half-sisters, Arlene and Phyllis; and a half brother, Ted.
