Dorothy M. Garrett
WATERVILLE -- Dorothy M. Garrett, 91, died on Oct. 17, 2013 at the Maine General Health – Thayer Hospital in Waterville after a short illness. She was a resident of Madison.
Born in Rumford on March 7, 1922, she was a daughter of Emilia Richard. She spent the majority of her life in the Rumford, Mexico, and Dixfield area and most recently in Madison. She was a well-known and well-liked cashier at Rommy’s Market in Mexico and for many years and a renowned Avon Representative. She was a communicant of the Parish of The Holy Savior St. Athanasius – St. John Church in Rumford.
Mom loved Small Point (The Seagull) at Hermit Island, Yahtzee, any card game, bowling, dancing, the Red Sox and especially her family.
She will be greatly missed by her surviving children, Judy and her husband, Dr. Robert Bonney of East Aurora, NY, Peggy and her husband, Robert Garrett of Sydney, Patti Jean Perry of Manchester; two sons, Peter Perry and his wife, Carmen of Rumford, and Stephen Perry and his wife, Randi of Gorham; her fiancé, Joe Hayden of Madison; two brothers, Robert Dayon, and Ronald Dayon and his wife, Gloria of Rumford; two sisters, Vernice Collette of Rumford and Shirley Dunn of Milton Plantation; a sister-in-law, Doris Dayon of Rumford; 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson.
She was predeceased by her two husbands, Raymond Perry and Wilfred Garrett; her daughter, Suzanne Holt; her brother, Hector Dayon; her granddaughter, Danielle Perry; and her great-grandson, Spencer.
