Sandra J. McArthur Haught
BOSTON , MA -- Sandra J. McArthur Haught, 74, of Manchester, NH and formerly of Rumford, passed away on June 17, 2013, at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA.
Sandy was born in Rumford on Oct. 2, 1938 to the late Ernest and Julia (Jonaitis) McArthur. She had been a resident of New Hampshire since 1973, living in Londonderry for 23 years and in Manchester for the past 17 years.
Sandy received an associate’s degree from the Rivier College, Nashua, NH, and worked as BAE Systems, Inc. (formerly Sanders Associates, Inc.) for nearly three decades beginning in October 1973. She served the company in a wide range of secretarial and executive assistant roles over the years working in nearly every BAE business and facility in New Hampshire during her career. She retired in 2001. Her co-workers and customers remember Sandy as a very capable and supportive colleague who was respected and loved for her professionalism, great sense of humor and kind and caring spirit.
Sandy was very active and worked out with her many friends at the Manchester YMCA nearly every day. She loved sports and was an avid Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins fan that stayed current on the Boston sports scene.
Sandy was taken from us all too young and suddenly. She will be dearly missed by her loving companion of many years, Norman Morais of Manchester and by her children, Deborah A. Donovan and husband, Donald of Litchfield and their children, Erin Timothy, Meghan and Patrick Donovan; Michael A. Haught and wife, Verona of Manchester and their children, Liam and Rory Haught; Kelly A. Leal and husband, Richard of Kyle, TX and their children, Shelby Jude, Richard and Kyle Leal.
She is also survived by her two siblings, James McArthur and wife, Georgianna of Poland Springs, and Christine Sassi and husband, Keith of Palm Harbor, FL. She will be missed by her nephews in the McArthur and Sassi families and her seven “adopted” grandchildren in the Morais and Wingreen families.
