Leon A. Hutchinson
LEWISTON -- Leon A. Hutchinson, 82, of Mexico, died on Dec. 10, 2012 at the Central Maine Medical Center.
He was born on Jan. 25, 1930 in Weld, a son of Earle and Myrtle (Houston) Hutchinson. He attended and graduated from Weld school before enlisting in the U.S. Army and serving during the Korean War.
On Oct. 6, 1957, he married Sally Welch at the Mexico Congregational Church. They made their home in Mexico as he worked and retired from Boise Cascade Paper Company in 1991 after serving over 35 years.
Leon was a former member of the Weld American Legion and greatly enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to play horseshoes, hunt, fish, snowmobile, garden, and work with his tractor. He also enjoyed travelling with his wife, Sally and playing cribbage.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sally of Mexico; his children, Shelly Martinez and her husband, Robert of Danvers, MA, Suzanne Hutchinson and her fiancé, Clifford Dollar of Rumford, and Mark Hutchinson and his wife, Kristie of Readfield; six grandchildren, Patrick, Nicole, Ashley, Kasey, Erica and Molly; three great-grandchildren, Kaylani, Isabella and James; and a sister, Minnie Blodgett of Carthage.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Lorin; siblings, Arthur, Ernest and Vernon Hutchinson, and Alice Tyler.
