Corless E. Kemeraitis

RUMFORD -– Corless E. Kemeraitis, 84, of Rumford, died on June 22, 2011 at the Rumford Hospital.

She was born in Weld on November 6, 1926, a daughter of Leo and Thelma (Hutchinson) Houghton. She had attended Carthage Schools.

In her younger years, she worked at the local mills and also at Madison’s and Trail’s End. She was a member of the World Wide Church of God.

She was married in Berlin, NH on February 6, 1961 to the late Peter Kemeraitis, Jr., who died in Rumford on January 19, 1990.

Survivors include a son, Peter Kemeraitis III of Rumford; a daughter, Catherine Hansen and her husband, Erich of Macungie, PA; a grandson, Christopher Hansen of Macungie, PA; sisters, June Turner of Carthage, and Leola Poirier and husband, Bob of Norwich, CT; five brothers, Emeral Houghton and wife, Betty of Carthage, Kermit Houghton and wife, Emily of Dixfield, Donald Houghton of Carthage, Lawrence Houghton of Carthage, Charles Houghton and wife, Frances of Carthage.

She was predeceased by a sister, Arleta Clark; and two brothers, Leroy and Conrad Houghton.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford, with George Weber officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Rumford.
