SACO -- Gloria Lamontagne, 81, of Saco died on October 19, 2013 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough following a lengthy illness.
She was born October 26, 1931 in Rumford, a daughter of Joseph and Melvina (Arsenault) Martin and was educated there. She graduated from Stephens High School in the Class of 1952 .
On August 24, 1963 she married Gerard Lamontagne in Rumford.
She had been employed at Evergreen Manor for 25 years, retiring in 1991 as manager of the laundry. Gloria was a member of the snow shoe clubs: Rochambeau in Biddeford and Le Paresseux in Rumford.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gerard, one daughter, Lisa Flynn and her husband, Daniel, and a sister, Esther Martin all of Saco. Also surviving her are two nephews, Daniel Martin and his wife, Jennifer, and their son, Aiden of Harrington, Delaware, and Dale Martin and his wife, Kathy and their children, Joe and Jane of New Hartford, CT.
Gloria was pre-deceased by two brothers, Joseph, Jr. and Roland Martin.
Visiting hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church of the Good Shepherd Parish in Biddeford. Burial will be at a later date in St. John’s Cemetery in Rumford.
