FARMINGTON -- Walter Leeman, 80, passed away to be with his Lord on February 24, 2013 at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

Walter was born on March 31, 1932 in Kingfield, the son of Everett and Hazel (Dolbier) Leeman. He was educated in the schools of Kingfield.

He lived in Kingfield during his youth and early adulthood, being well known around town and was employed at the Kingfield Woodturning Mill. In 1979, he moved to Farmington and resided there for many years and was a local face well known around town there as well.

He had been a resident of the Victorian Villa Maplewood Lodge in Canton since April of 2004. He was sharp witted and quick to make a rhyming joke or match ones name with a rhyme. Walter’s smile was broad and contagious. He enjoyed many outings and activities with the HOPE Association staff during the last years of his life, as well as times with his house staff and co-residents at the Villa.

A memorial gathering and sharing of Walter’s life will be held at the Redding Room of the Victorian Villa, 26 Pleasant St., Canton from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 15. Light refreshments will be served.

Burial will be in the spring at Sunnyside Cemetery in Kingfield.
