RUMFORD -- Theresa McDonald, 94, died October 11, 2013 at the Rumford Community Home. She was a resident of Free Street in Rumford.
Born in Rumford on August 22, 1919, she was a daughter of Camille and Hattie (Gagnon) Ross. She was a graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford Class of 1939.
She worked part-time at JC Pennys and 27 years at Chandlers Men’s Clothing Store. She loved weekend family get togethers and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior St. Athanasius St. John Church and a former member of St. Timothy Circle #504 Daughters of Isabella.
She was married in Rumford on May 26, 1941 to Harold J. McDonald, who died in Lewiston on January 26, 1998.
Survivors include a son, Robert McDonald and his wife, Lane of Rumford; daughters, Sharon Folland and her husband, Robert of Rumford, Joanne Richard and her husband, Fern of Lewiston; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harold; and three brothers, Ted, Sylvio and Henry Ross.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the loving care given to our mother by the staff and Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice and also the Rumford Community Home with special mention to the Nursing Home Administrator Jeffrey Lacroix.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the Parish of the Holy Savior St. Athanasius St. John Church in Rumford.
Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Rumford. Those who desire may contribute to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, 15 Strawberry Ave., Lewiston, ME 04240 in her memory.
