Robert H. Packard
PERU -- Robert (Bob) H. Packard, 58, of Peru passed away on June 29, 2011 at his home near Worthley Pond with his wife by his side.
Bob was born in Rumford on Nov. 19, 1952 to Harold Packard, Jr. and Marjorie (McCallister) Packard of Peru.
He served in the U.S. Air Force.
Bob lived most of his life in Peru and married the love of his life, Holly on Dec. 16, 1988 and they joined their families as one.
He was an avid outdoorsman. Bob loved hunting, fishing, logging, gardening and maple syrup season.
Bob was a man who loved the simple things in life and was very happy to be in the woods near the pond where he and his wife spent most of their 23 years together, building their life. He adored his granddaughter, Lilly and always said she was the apple of his eye. Lilly was so precious to him.
For many years, Bob worked in construction, traveling to many states. He and Holly owned and operated a sporting goods ship in Danforth. He also logged and worked for Irving.
Bob was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March of 2011. He loved his family and friends so much and will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
He is survived by his loving wife, Holly Packard; daughter, Bonnie Belanger, son-in-law, Adam Turner and granddaughter, Lilly Turner, all of Peru; daughter, Sarah Packard and companion, Charlie Mayne of Lake Placid, FL; son, Adam Packard and companion, Mary Gilks; grandsons, Andrew Dove and Kody Packard and granddaughter, Brittany Packard of Lake City, FL; sister-in-law, Grace Packard and family, his mother, Marjorie Packard, sister, Gale Gabriel and Joe, of Peru; a brother, Richard Packard of Lewiston; Ronald and Sandra Burgess of Dixfield; Tim and Wanda Burgess and family of Dixfield; Scott and Beth Burgess of Dixfield; Corey and Kerry Burgess of Rumford; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob is predeceased by his brother, Stephen Packard of Peru; his father, Harold Packard, Jr. of Peru; and a nephew, Jeffrey Burgess of Dixfield.
