Mark W. Ramsdell
AUBURN -- Mark W. Ramsdell, 55, of Knox Street, Rumford, passed away on May 2, 2013, after a long courageous battle with cancer, at the Hospice House, Auburn.
He was born on April 24, 1958 in Saco, the son of Malcolm and Marion (Pierce) Ramsdell. He grew up in Waterboro and attended Massabesic High School.
He moved to Rumford area 28 years ago and was a logger by trade and worked for many of the area logging companies.
Mark enjoyed NASCAR races and watching the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox play. Mark was a special guest at Fenway Park with a private suite to watch the game and a personal message displayed in the New Balance sign that read “Boston Red Sox welcomes Mark Ramsdell and family to Fenway Park.” He also loved spending time with his granddaughter, Riley.
Mark was married in Mexico on March 22, 1990 to Gerry Day, who survives of Rumford.
Other survivors include step-sons, Brandon Windover, and James Windover and wife, Cathy and a special granddaughter, Riley Mae Windover, all of Rumford; brothers Vernon Ramsdell of Alfred, Jeffrey Ramsdell of Springvale and Matthew Ramsdell of Waterboro; and a sister, Sharon Contois of Embden and formerly of Waterboro.
He was pre-deceased by his parents.
