George Randall Standeven, Jr.
ANDOVER -- George Randall Standeven, Jr., 62, died on March 10, 2013 at his residence in Andover.
Born in South Kingston, RI on November 13, 1950, he was a son of George Randall and Beverly Jean (Hopkins) Standeven Sr. He attended South Kingston Schools.
He was a self-employed logger and also worked for George Sherman’s Sand and Gravel in Rhode Island. For the past 30 years, he had worked for Chadbourne Tree Farms as a heavy mechanic.
George enjoyed his grandchildren, riding his motorcycle and his dog, Dusty. He was a former chief of the Kingston Fire Department.
He was married in South Kingston, RI on July 21, 1973 to Sandra Reed, who survives of Andover.
Other survivors include his son, Jason of Andover; grandchildren, Corbin and Sadie Standeven, and Jacob and Joshua Boutilier; siblings, Ken and Millie Standeven of Charleston, RI, Brenda and Marshall Fleet of Mason Township, Cindy and John Desmarais of Kingston, RI, Doug and Sue Standeven of Charleston, RI, Judy and Clay Gould of Bethel, and Tammy Standeven of Mason Township; his mother-in-law, Jane Reed of Andover.
He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Lisa Buckman; and a brother, Larry Standeven.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Calvary Bible Church on Rte 5 in Andover with Pastor Kenneth Wagstaff officiating.
