NORTHRIDGE, CA -- Leo William Theriault, 91, passed away on April 12, 2012.

Leo was born on Aug. 29, 1920 in Rumford and lived there for 36 years before moving to California in 1956. He was a resident of Northridge, California for many years. His beloved wife of 62 years, Shirley Arsenault, predeceased him in 2002.

He was proud to have served his country as a Navy Seabee during World War II, stationed in the Philippines. He was a very loving, sweet, and gentle man who was a devout Catholic and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Over the course of 30 years, he made thousands of rosaries and shipped them to missions all over the world.

He is survived by sister, Rita Gallant of Rumford; sons, Richard (Judy) and Robert; daughter, Gloria (Mike) Hahn; granddaughters, Darlene (Nancy) Theriault, Michelle (Paul) Frost, Renee (Kevin) Nagel, Kristi (Adam) Reis; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held at LIFEhouse Church – 18355 Roscoe Blvd., Northridge, CA on Saturday at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Valley Village, 20830 Sherman Way, Winnetka, CA 91306.
