Joan Thorne

AUBURN -- Joan Thorne, 80, of Rumford, died on March 03, 2013 at the Hospice House in Auburn.

Joan was born on July 10, 1932, the daughter of Theophile and Alice (Robichaud) Langteigne.

In her younger years, she worked at Newberry’s, and after her children were grown, she worked at Ames Dept. Store. Joan enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, reading, knitting, and watching old movies & detective shows.

She is survived by her husband, Reginald of Rumford; two daughters, Tammy and husband, Dennis Chiasson of Standish, and Nancy and husband, John Parent from Mont Vernon, NH, two sons, Daniel Thorne of New Britain, CT, and David and wife, Cindy Thorne of Standish; eight grandchildren, Matt, Katie and Eric Chiasson, Amelia and Jacob Parent, Ethan, Haley and Nicholas Thorne; two sisters, Gloria Desalle of Rumford and Yvonne Barrieau of Florida.

Joan was predeceased by her mother and father, and sisters; Cecilia Langteigne and Janet Pepin.
