Kristy M. Tidswell
RUMFORD -- On Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013, God opened his arms, embraced Kristy M. Tidswell and brought her to his home.
Kristy was born on February 20, 1979, with a congenital heart defect and endured numerous procedures to prolong her life expectancy. She was the daughter of Earland and Elizabeth (Papasadora) Tidswell, Jr. and was a lifelong resident of Rumford. She graduated from Mtn. Valley High School Class of 1999.
Kristy touched many lives with her kind hearted nature and sweet personality. She enjoyed playing games, making puzzles, knitting, being in the company of her friends and spending time with her best friends, Nanni and Grampa, and her pride and joy, Bella.
One of her proudest moments was in March 2009 when she became “Auntie” to her nephew, Ryder.
Survivors include her parents, Earland and Elizabeth Tidswell, Jr. of Rumford; a brother, Eric Tidswell and his girlfriend, Kayla of Peru; a nephew, Ryder Tidswell and Ryder’s mother, Christy of Ohio; maternal grandparents, Ralph and Betty Papasadora of Rumford; aunts, Shirley and her husband, Jamie Gallant of Rumford, Gloria Tidswell of Mexico, Brenda Cushman and her husband, Greg of Mexico, Sherry Tidswell of Dixfield, Gayle Tidswell and Marie Papasadora; Uncle Mike Tidswell and his wife, Donna of Rumford; numerous cousins too numerous; and Barbara and Al Smith of Rumford.
Kristy was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Toddy; Aunts Peggy Papasadora, Jackie Tidswell; and her uncle, Bobby Tidswell.
The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to her volunteers Polly and Evelyn whom brightened her week, her nurses,
Gayle, Tara, Phoebe, and Nancy, Wendy, who inspired Kristy to live each day to the fullest, and her doctors, Paul Parker, Adrian Morin, Joel Worth, Richard McFaul and Michele Knapp, along with her compassionate staff.
Funeral services will be private and held at the family’s convenience. Interment later in the spring will be in St John Cemetery, Rumford. Those who desire may contribute to Boston Children’s Hospital Cardiac, Unit 300, Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115, or to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, 15 Strawberry Ave., Lewiston, ME 04240 in her memory.
