Frank “Red” Allen White
EAST HARTFORD, CT -- Frank “Red” Allen White, 85, longtime resident of East Hartford, CT, passed away on November 18, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.
Frank was the beloved husband of Marion (Gagne) for 63 years. He was born on April 22, 1927, in Andover, a son of the late Fulton Issac and Anna Mable (May) White.
Frank proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a recipient of the World War II Victory Medal, American Area Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Medal.
He was a longtime parishioner of St. Rose Roman Catholic Church in East Hartford. Frank was self-employed and worked side-by-side with his son, George at his company Frank A. White Construction Company. He loved to travel in his 5th Wheel especially to local fairs and as far as Fryeburg Fair in Maine. He loved watching the Girls’ UConn basketball games, the Woodstock Fair horse pull, a good horse race, boxing and especially his Dodge pickup truck.
In addition to his cherished wife, Marion, Frank is survived by his daughters, Catherine A. Padegimas and her husband, Donald J. of So. Windsor, CT and Gloria Jablonski and her husband, John of Old Saybrook, CT and Rebecca Landry and her husband, Craig of Tolland CT.
Frank will also be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Jennifer A. Karcich and her husband, Derek, Alison M. Fetta and her husband, Fiorigio, James J. and David J. Jablonski, Amanda Rose and Eric M. Landry; great-grandchildren, Kaia M. and Braden D. Karcich, Fiorgio P. and Domenico A. Fetta; his brother, Claude F. White; sisters, Emma Giroux, Alice Gagne, Evelyn LeClair, Roberta Touchette, Grace Jameson and Juliette Salatino; and by his furry four-legged feline companion, Jake.
Frank is predeceased by his son, George A. White; brothers, Chester, Lawrence, Richard, Robert and Ernest White, and sister, Arline DeWar.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Hartford Hospital and the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center and a special heartfelt thank you to the VNA nurses who provided continued support to Frank and our family.
