Philip L. Brackett
MEXICO -- Philip L. Brackett, 70, died on August 26, 2012 with his family by his side peacefully at his residence on South Main Street, Mexico.
He was born in Hollis on August 14, 1942, the son of Harold and Julia (Waldron) Brackett. He had attended schools in Hollis and Buxton.
Philip was a self employed auto mechanic and owned and operated Brackett’s Garage in South Portland for over 25 years until retirement.
He enjoyed NASCAR, Ford vehicles, and fishing.
He was married in Scarborough on August 8, 1961 to his wife of 51 years, Joyce Cash Brackett, who survives of Mexico. Other survivors include a son, Philip L. Brackett, Jr. and wife, Michelle of South Portland; a daughter, Julie Bradley and husband, John of Moscow; grandchildren, McKenzie and Philip Brackett III of South Portland, Donella Woodsome of Lewiston, and Dylan and Kelsey Bradley of Moscow; brothers, Harold, Dwight and Ray Brackett; and sisters, Helen and Margaret Brackett, and Alice Ricci.
