Margaret Draper Curnow

ALLENTOWN, PA -- Margaret Draper Curnow, 83, of Delaware Water Gap, PA, passed away On March 9, 2011 at Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Born on Oct. 1, 1927 in Dexter, ME, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Clifford V. and Mary Louise (Sampson) Cross.

She is the beloved wife of William Curnow, at home. They were married on June 17, 1950, in the East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Harold C. Eaton and the father of the bride, performing the ceremony. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in June 2010.

She went to school in Dixfield and her father was minister in the Congregational Church in Dixfield during the 1940's.

She was a 1946 graduate of Taylor High School in Taylor, PA, and was selected as the Belle of her senior class. She was a 1949 graduate of the Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing in Scranton, PA.

She was a registered urse at the Monrow County General Hospital and later at the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI.

After she retired from nursing, she enjoyed working as an antique dealer.

In addition to her husband, Bill, she is survived by four loving daughters, Karyl L. Paolino and her companion, James R. MacIntosh of Warwick, RI, Cynthia L. Armstrong and her husband, Robert of Crozet, VA, Susan Curnow Wilson and her husband, Martin, of Delaware Water Gap, and Amy Bewley of Warwick, RI; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-children, with whom she loved visiting with; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Dorthea E. Blake.
