Geraldine M. Frawley

AUGUSTA -- Geraldine M. Frawley, 85, died on August 9, 2012 at Maine General Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center at Gray Birch follow a long illness.

She was born in Rumford on July 25, 1927, a daughter of the late Charles B. and Margaret (Fowler) McKenna. Mrs. Frawley was a graduate of St. Athanasius School and Stephens High School in 1945. She attended Gates Business College in Augusta.

She was employed shortly after high school by the U.S. Government Civil Service by the Selective Service System, trained in Portland, transferred to Augusta in 1946 and retired from the Federal Government in October, 1976 after 32 years of service as an administrative assistant to the state director.

Mrs. Frawley was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She was an avid reader and loved Broadway musicals.

She is survived by a sister, E. Faye Boaz of Augusta as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Frawley was predeceased by two brothers, Lawrence and C. Daniel McKenna.
