Albert Alwyn Frost

TAMPA, FL -- Albert Alwyn Frost of Rumford and Monticello, GA, died peacefully on January 19, 2013 in Tampa, FL

Born in Rumford on August 17, 1923, he was the son of Irving A. and Agnes (Heath) Frost. He attended Rumford schools and Stephens High School.

Mr. Frost worked for many years as the owner of Frost Motor Parts in Augusta and in Detroit, MI. He was a lieutenant in World War II and active in the Rotary and the Elks, holding leadership positions in both.

He was married in Germany on May 8, 1945 to the former Wanda Mary Gryzenia of Detroit, who was his nurse while he recovered from war wounds. Later, he was the longtime partner of Elaine Rocha, also of Rumford.

Mr. Frost was the brother of Irving "Ted" Frost of Rumford. He was the father of seven children, the grandfather of 15, and the great-grandfather of eight.

There will be no services, his ashes will be scattered over Three Mile Pond in Maine the place that Albert and Elaine loved.

The family thanks and remembers Gladys Dunton of Rumford, who graciously extended a kind hand towards Albert when his own mother passed away.
