Joseph M.L. Roy

ROCK HILL, SC -- Joseph M.L. Roy, 76, known to his family as Marcel, died on his birthday, June 20, 2012, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC, with his family by his side.

Born in Rumford, Mr. Roy lived most of his life in Fairfield and was co-owner of Cer-Roy Precision Inc. in Stratford before retiring to South Carolina. He was an avid golfer and angler and enjoyed spending time with his only granddaughter.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Florence Cervone Roy; his daughter, Kimberly Sipes and her husband, John; two sons, Jeffrey Roy; and Robert Roy and wife, wife, Alexis, and their daughter, Olivia; four brothers and their wives, Paul Roy (Clara), Gerald Roy (Jane), Albert Roy (Maryanne) and Charles Roy (Fern); two sisters and their husbands, Denise Tibbetts (Roscoe) and Alice Baum (Ray); one sister-in-law, Jean Roy; and 28 nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Emile, and mother, Armande; his sister, Theresa Walker; and two brothers, Laurier and Maurice Roy.

The family will have a memorial service in Connecticut later this summer.
