Carl P Slade, Jr.
LEWISTON -- Carl P Slade, Jr., 78, passed away unexpectedly May 25, 2013, at the Maine Medical Center, with his family by his side.
He was born in Fall River, MA, to Carl P. Slade Sr. and Edith M. (Chace ) Slade. He attended Somerset, MA schools, graduating from Somerset High School in 1952. He attended Bryant College.
Growing up he was a Boy Scout with Troop 21 in Somerset; was a newspaper carrier for the Fall River Herald News, was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Fall River, MA; member of Pioneer Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Somerset; member of the National Guard amd a Mason.
He worked at Standard Coil in No. Dighton, MA, then at Honeywell in Fall River, MA before moving to Northbridge, MA in 1964 where he was a operations manager for Palco products, Worcester, MA.
Following he was East Coast manager for for Bike Athletic Company (formerly Puma Athletics) in Framingham, MA and was relocated to Maryville, TN. Most recent plans were to move back to the New England area. Carl, loved sports - avid fan of the Red Sox and Patriots. He played golf, enjoyed hunting ,bowling, camping, walking, gardening, loved to eat his favorite foods, especially from home Fall River.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Muriel (Goodoff) Slade; former wife, Esther (Kupiec) Slade and daughter, Debra Massey and her husband, Peter of Northbridge MA; three sons, Carl P. Slade III of Worcester MA, Glenn Slade and his wife, Kimberly of Brimfield, MA, Shane Slade of Tennessee; a daughter, Tracy of Worcester MA; a sister, Audrey (Slade) Haworth and her husband, William of Brownfield; many nieces and nephew; and Aunt Mary Levesque, 99, of Somerset, MA. Carl has 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He loved caring for his three dogs, especially, "Lucky." He loved being with his family. He will be sadly missed.
