Victor “Skip” Lawrence Small, Jr.
JAY -- Victor “Skip” Lawrence Small, Jr., 57, of Jay, passed away on September 15, 2013, peacefully with his family and loved ones by his side.
Skip was born on October 16, 1955 in Farmington. He attended Mt. Blue High School for his education.
He worked for the Tannery in East Wilton, Fosters in East Wilton and Strong, and for the Morning Sentinel as a paper carrier for 16 years. Skip enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, wood working and their family dog Mic. He loved spending time with his family, and enjoyed teaching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren how to fish.
On July 23, 1977, he married the woman of his dreams and the catch of his life Jeanne (Dexter) Small.
Skip is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jeanne Small of Jay; his mother, Julia Mae (Thompson) Small of Dryden; brothers, Ed and wife Sharron of New Hampshire, Richard and wife, Sheryl of Wilton; sisters, Cynthia Fairley of Dryden, Annette Spevak of Dryden, and Linnie Couture and husband, Joseph of Jay; children, Vicki Rhodes and husband, Steven of Virginia, Betty Hunnicutt and husband, Devin of Florida, Ronald “Kenny” Crosby, Jr. of Anson, Ray Crosby and wife, Nancy of Massachusetts, Michael Crosby and wife, Michelle of Livermore Falls, and Daniel Crosby and Dan Wing of Wilton; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Victor Small; and grandson, Caleb.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 10 a.m. on Friday at Lakeview Cemetery, Route 2 in Wilton. In lieu of flowers, donations to help with his final expenses would be greatly appreciated, c/o Jeanne Small, 169 Macomber Hill Rd, Jay, ME 04239
