Norma L. Tenney

LIVERMORE FALLS -– Norma L. Tenney, 80, of Livermore Falls, passed away at her home on April 4, 2011.

She was born Dec. 19, 1930, in Dryden, the daughter of Harold and Dorothy (Williams) Farrington. Norma attended Jay schools.

On August 1, 1948, she married Donald D. Tenney in Bean’s Corner.

Norma spent many wonderful summers with her family at Dummer’s Beach in Weld. She was a compassionate wife and mother with a flair for cooking, sewing, and gardening. Norma cherished her family and she hosted a well-attended annual family reunion at her home that was treasured by all.

Norma was employed by the Livermore Falls school system food service department for many years. She was a longtime volunteer with the American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days and she was willing to do anything to help her church and its congregation. Most recently, she was sewing rip sheets to make bandages for hospitals overseas.

Norma is survived by her children, Donna Blasidell and her husband, Michael of Livermore, Brenda Simoneau and her husband, Tom of Healdsburg, CA, Judith Smith and her husband, Sam of Camden, Timothy Tenney and his wife, Cindy of Dayton; her siblings, Virginia Sawtelle of Winthrop, Barbara Farrington, Glenda Farrington and Sharon Farrington, all of Bean’s Corner, Maynard Farrington and his wife, Judy of Bean’s Corner, and Wayne Farrington and his wife,

Bobbie of Gray; grandchildren, Jasmine Castonguay and husband, Johnny, Zacharie Blaisdell and his wife, Tia, Austin Smith, Chris Tenney and Eric Tenney; great-grandchildren, Jaden Castonguay, Ethan Castonguay, Emma Blaisdell, Trinity Chretien and Amelia Tenney.

Norma was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Donald Tenney; a daughter, Susan; a grandson, Owen Smith; sister, Frances Billingsly; and a brother, Kenneth Farrington.

Norma’s love and devotion will be kept alive in our memories forever.
