James Craig Watson

CORNISH -- James Craig Watson, 69, formerly of Cornish, died on July 17, 2012 at his home at Horizons in Rumford, where he had resided for 36 years.

He was born in Portland on June 5, 1943, a son of Norman and Nathelene Chisholm Watson. He enjoyed growing up on the family farm in Cornish and he loved the horses, cows, pigs and all the other animals they had.

His special interest was trucks, especially logging trucks. Jim enjoyed walking, shooting basketball, snowmobiling, bowing and dancing. He was involved in Special Olympics swimming program and looked forward to going to summer camp each summer. Fryeburg and Farmington Agriculture Fairs were his favorites. He enjoyed a good cup of coffee and looked forward to spending his holidays with his family in Cornish.

Surviving are sisters, Diann W. Perkins (Linwood) of Cornish and Suzanne W. Madore (Bernon) of Arundel; a brother, Dominic “Nick” Watson of Cornish; sister-in-law, Cheri Watson of Cornish; and an aunt, Glenna Watson Bell of Cornish. He will also be missed by 13 loving nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to his extended family at Horizons and Hope Association in Rumford.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Hope Association in Rumford.
