Carol "Ma" A. Dean
RUMFORD -- Carol A. Dean, 65, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 27, 2010 in Lewiston, with her family by her side. She passed due to complications from a heart attack.
Carol was born in Rumford on June 26, 1945, daughter of George and Jacquline Berry.
She was a member of Eagles Fraternal Order #1248 for many years. Carol very much enjoyed doing crafts and collecting angels. She loved her family, friends and "adopted family" very dearly, and her dog, Spike.
Carol loved spending time with her family and friends, had the biggest heart of gold, and would do anything for anyone, proving that many times. She loved her community.
To everyone who knew her, she was "Ma" and "Gram." She loved the Free Store. Carol worked at Hillcrest Chicken Farm.
Carol is survived by a daughter, Linda Leonard and her husband, Leroy "Bub" of Mexico; two stepsons, David Clay of Lewiston, and David Dean and wife, Vickie of Buckfield; a step-daughter, Donna Kimball and husband, Harry of Naples, and Robin Slewhockey of Bath; a sister, Irene Perry and husband, Jerome of S. Paris; a brother, Gary Spencer and wife, Betty of S. Paris; nephew, Bill Davis of Lewiston; and her "adopted family," including Tracy McClay and husband, Aaron, Jesse and Danny McClay of Rumford, Alycia Ginn and her children, Alycin, Dawcyn and Bryce, and boyfriend and his three girls of Mexico, Edith Moore and children of Farmington, Jennifer McGee and daughters, Destinee, Jade and Bella Littlefield of Florida.
Carol was predeceased by her late husband, Gordon Dean; mother, Jacquline Berry; father, George V. Berry; two brothers, Richard Berry and Edmund Spencer; a niece, Patricia Paine; her first husband, Gordon Clay; and nephew, Mark Hibbard.
There will be a spring interment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory. Cans will be out in stores.
