Francis B. “Frank” St. Cyr

RUMFORD -- Francis B. “Frank” St. Cyr, 86 , died on December 22, 2010 at his home on Spruce Street, Rumford with his family by his side..

He was born in Rumford on October 21, 1924, a son of Frank and Dorcas (Glover) St.Cyr. He attended Rumford Schools.

Frank served with as a Seaman 2nd Class, US Navy, aboard the USS Boston during WW-II.

He was employed as a mechanic at the Mobile Garage at Boise Cascade Paper Company in Rumford & then as a machinist when he retired in 1986 after more than 40 years with the company.

Frank was a communicant of St. Athanasius-St. John Church, Member of the Boise Cascade Paper Company 25 & 40 Year Club; Member Robert Shand Post # 1641, VFW and Member of Napoleon Ouellette Post #24, American Legion.

He was married in Rumford on November 27, 1945 to the former Adeline Collins, who died in Rumford on January 11, 1991.

Survivors include his daughter, Gladys St. Cyr of Rumford; brother, James St. Cyr of Gulfport, MS; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Rockwood; a sister, Gladys Gurschick; five brothers, Louis, Ray, Quentin “Sam,” Loren and David St. Cyr; and a granddaughter, Alethea Anne Gallant.

Friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Athanasius-St. John Church, 126 Maine Ave., Rumford. Interment with Military Honors at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2011 in St. John Cemetery, Rumford.
