Harry F. "Bunny” Carver
MEXICO -- Harry F. "Bunny” Carver, 85, of Swift River Road in Mexico, died on January 20, 2011 at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born in Rumford on July 16, 1925, a son of Harry and Clyda (Barry) Carver. Bunny attended schools in Rumford and Mexico.
He went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Army during WWII as a staff sergeant. Following his discharge from the service, he went to work at Oxford Paper Co. and retired after 39 years of employment.
Once retired, his pleasure was woodworking, creating sleds and various pieces of furniture for family and friends. Bunny was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, and camping in the Allagash wilderness.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Alice (Sloane) Carver of Mexico; his children, Harry J. Carver and wife, Joanne of Dixfield, Sheila Cottrell and companion, David Eggleston of W. Virginia, Jo-Ann Hayford and husband, Lyndon of Canton, and Julie Boucher and companion, Gerry Guenther of Lewiston; two sisters, Alice Gallant of Worcester, MA and Barbara Neillis of Connecticut; two brothers, Harold Carver of Auburn and Raymond Carver of Mexico; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a special friend, John Beaudoin.
He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Donald Carver; a sister, Stella Hobson; a grandson, David Carver; and a great-grandson, Travis Gallant.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to his caregivers, Wendy, Nikki, and Bonnie, for all of their wonderful care and loving support.
Spring interment will be in Pineview Cemetery Roxbury. In lieu of flowers contributions in Bunny’s memory may be made to the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, 15 Strawberry Ave., Lewiston, ME 04240.
