Joan L. Wiggett

RUMFORD -- Joan L. Wiggett, 67, of Mexico died on February 2, 2011 at the Rumford Hospital.

She was born in Huntington Park, California on June 27, 1943, a daughter of George and Leah (Brooks) Wendler.

Joan attended and graduated from high school in Los Angeles, CA and received her teaching degree from the University of Maine at Farmington. She was an elementary school teacher and taught in Mexico, Dixfield, Peru, and Rumford schools.

She was married in Albuquerque, NM on March 5, 1970 to MSGT Kyle O. Wiggett USAF Retired, who died in Rumford on September 10, 1985.

Survivors include her son, Brent Wiggett and wife, Julie of Clovis, NM; a daughter, Lisa Belanger of Lewiston; grandchildren, Stetson Ashpaugh of Elk City, OK, Chase, Rance and Bret Burrus of Clovis, NM, David and Matthew Sisk of South Carolina; great-grandchildren, Blayne and Hunter Ashpaugh of Elk City, OK; and a brother, Mike Wendler of Texas.
