Raymond K. Richard
MEXICO -- Raymond K. Richard, 78, of Mexico, passed away on November 19, 2010 at Ledgeview Living Center where he resided for a short time; receiving excellent, professional care during his struggle with Alzheimer’s/Dementia.
He was born May 26, 1932, in Jay, the son of James and Evangeline (Dube) Richard.
He married Irene M. Simard on August 27, 1954. Together they raised ten children.
He was employed with Ethyl/Oxford Paper/Boise Cascade, retiring after many years. While employed there, through the years, he had also owned and operated many businesses such as Ray’s Sunoco, Jakes’ Taxi/Oxford Pool-hall, and The Deluxe Diner.
After his retirement he and Irene bought a home in Florida and spent their winters there for nineteen years. Ray enjoyed his days of riding his motorcycle; going to the races at Oxford Plains and when he could no longer do that; watching NASCAR on TV, his favorite driver being Dale Earnhart #3, and old western movies.
He is loved and will be sadly missed by his wife, Irene; five sons, Michael Richard and wife, Gloria, Lawrence Richard and wife, Marie, and David Richard, all of Rumford, William Richard and wife, Goldie of Virginia, Ricky Richard and wife, Susan of Maryland; four daughters, Linda Jackson and fiance, Lindy Latham, Debbie Cullins, Susan Cormier and husband, Kevin, Diane Drapeau and husband, Tom, all of Rumford; his brother, Victor and wife, Barbara of West Peru; 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Paul Richard; his son, Steven T. Richard; and his grandson, Aaron Jackson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Parish of the Holy Savior. Interment followed in St. John Cemetery.
