Shirley E. Drapeau

MEXICO -- Shirley E. Drapeau, 86, of Richards Avenue, died unexpectedly on January 19, 2011 at her residence.

She was born in Rumford on December 19, 1924, a daughter of Cloyd E. and Sadie E. (Richards) Swett. Shirley was educated in Mexico schools.

She was employed at Diamond National and Bass Shoe Shop. Shirley was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior and was a member of WOW’s.

She enjoyed playing Yahtzee and cards, and spending time with her family. Shirley will be sadly missed by her beloved dog, Dakota, and cat, Tuffy.

She is survived by her three sons, Ray Drapeau and wife, Glenda of Ottisfield, Philip Drapeau Sr. and wife, Rose of Weld, and Larry Drapeau and companion, Karen Hodsdon of Mexico; ten grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Napoleon Drapeau, Jr.; a daughter, Aleta Drapeau; two sons, Alfred and Jean; and two brothers, Raymond Swett and Elwin Swett.

Spring interment will be in St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in Shirley’s memory may be made to McKennel’s Animal Adoption Agency, 88 Hall Hill Rd., Rumford, ME 04276.
