Thomas A. “Butch” Mahoney

LEWISTON -- Thomas A. “Butch” Mahoney, 78, died on December 14, 2010 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

Born in Rumford on December 13, 1932, he was a son of the late Cecil H. and Christie (Stevens) Mahoney Sr. He attended Rumford schools.

He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a lead man for Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, CT for over 40 years until his retirement in 1996.

He was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Lewiston and was a member of Robert Shand Post #1641, VFW and Napoleon Ouellette Post # 24, American Legion.

He was married in Mexico on November 22, 1956 to the late Lumina Mary “Mena” Martin, who died in Lewiston on July 22, 2005.

Survivors include three sisters, Beverly Jasud and her husband, Donald of Mexico, Ruth Karpen of Rumford, Evelyn Gaul of Rumford; many nieces and nephews; and companion Terry Bell of Lewiston.

He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Dorr, and a brother, Cecil Mahoney, Jr.
