Wayne L. Sweatt

TAMPA, FL -- Wayne L. Sweatt, 85, of Fenwick Avenue, died on December 9, 2010 at home following a brief illness.
He was born in Rumford on September 4, 1925, the son of Verle L. and Lilla (MacLennan) Sweatt.
He was a graduate of Stephens High School Class of 1943 and of Bates College. He honorably served his country in the US Navy during World War II.
Wayne was employed by National Biscuit Company as a research chemist. He was associated for many years with the Salvation Army, both in New Jersey and Florida, having moved to Tampa following retirement.
He is survived by his brothers, Glynn V. Sweatt of La Jolla, CA, and Dale M. Sweatt and wife, Carol of Peru; two nieces, Lilla Sweatt of California and Valerie Provencher of Peru; and by two grandnieces, Jessica of Rumford and Kayla of Peru.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
