Ann Shields Mason

GREENVILLE, TX - Ann Shields Mason, 94, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2008 at the Greenville Rehab Center in Greenville, TX where she had resided for the past six years.
     Ann was born in Pitfour Castle, County of Perthshire, Scotland on December 29, 1913. She was the daughter of Samuel and Christina Shields.
     Ann and her family came to America in the 1920's, and made Rumford their home. Ann retired from the Rumford School system after having taught there for more than 30 years.
     She is survived by her son, Ian of Quinlan, TX; and two grandsons, Carter and Lee of Atlanta, GA; a sister-in-law, Dora Shields, and nephew, Richard of Mechanic Falls; a niece, Katherine of Portland; and a nephew, Samuel Shields of Rangeley.
     She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Richard and Robert Shields; two nephews, Richard and James Shields; and a niece, Maryetta Shields.
     Private services will be held this summer at the Demeritt Cemetary in Peru.
