An everyday hero
To the Editor:
Recently, Mitzi Sequoia wrote about everyday heroes in her Basket Lady column, and presented Fred Stone, our caretaker at the Concord Apartment, with a basket.
Fred is always there for all 27 apartment occupants on the clock or off. Need a job done, leave a note on his office door, and the job gets done. We can call him any time day or night.
Someone had problems with a computer, clock and TV and Fred came over on his afternoon off and fixed things. I could fill a page with the nice things he does for people. He is such a kind and caring person who is so concerned about us.
When we are ill, he checks on us at the hospital. He checks and visits us and asks if we need anything and is there for us. He certainly deserve being call an everyday hero.
