Help keep Peru recreation alive!

To the Editor:

I've been with Peru Recreation for more then 25 years, with my kids and everyone behind them. I have coached every team and have been behind the plate.

The small practice field was built with the help of volunteer players at the time, these players are now parents. The ball fields have always been taken care of by our volunteers and will continue to be maintained this way. I've seen a lot of people come and go and now it is time for me to step back and help instead of being on the front lines.

I have to be honest in saying, we need new blood if the programs are going to continue. I will always help maintain the fields as this is my passion, making sure our youth have the facilities to play on. It takes a community to raise a child and I am asking for your help in keeping Peru Recreation alive, giving our youth the qualities which will help them mature and grow in a positive atmosphere.

In saying all this I must thank the many Past Volunteers who have made Peru Recreation what it is.

Please show your support for our youth and come to a reorganizational meeting at 6 p.m. Friday at the Peru Community Building. Please get involved or Peru Recreation may be no more. Bring a friend.

Peru
