WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Ryanne Dailey of Dixfield, a graduate of Dirigo High School, recently met with U.S. Senator Susan Collins in Washington, D.C. Ryanne was in the nation's capital to participate in the National Youth Science Camp (NYSC), an annual honors science program attended by two high-achieving students from each state as well as accomplished international science students selected and sponsored by the U.S. State Department.
Ryanne will attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute in the fall.
The NYSC is in its 50th year in operation. The camp is held at Camp Pocahontas in West Virginia, near the National Radio
Astronomy Observatory, and offers hands-on small-group learning experiences, a provocative lecture series, and an outdoor adventure program. The camp ran from June 26 through July 20.
