Gun rights in the "land of the free"
To the Editor:
Nothing could be more heartbreaking that the school shootings of innocent children and heroic teachers in Sandy Hook, CT that occurred too recently.
Of course, no one can miss the point that this is also perfect propaganda for the gun snatchers in our increasingly socialist America guided by our Marxist-in-Chief in the White House.
Regardless of the statistics that point out that where citizens are armed, there are fewer crimes involving guns; a fact noted in every conservative publication around, the leftist second amendment traitors are trying to convince us that the presence of guns is the cause of all shootings.
One cannot get across the point that it is people who decide to kill others; not the weapon itself. Under their reasoning, we should abolish baseball games also since both cars and baseball bats kill people! Did Cain use a handgun or military weapon on Abel?
Should we therefore abolish rocks too? Good luck with that one!
The cause of shootings is clearly the our state of being a sinful and fallen race; not the weapons chosen. Magazines like “The New American” have also run articles demonstrating the connection with psychiatric/psychotropic drugs with every case of school shootings.
We should never forget the response of Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto when he was asked why the Japanese did not attack California’s coast right after the Pearl Harbor attack. Yamamoto replied that “in America there is a gun behind every blade of grass.”
Is it so hard to get the point that it is better to have a gun and not need it than to need it and not have it? Our legislators must not be stampeded into using a tragedy to promote an agenda which will emasculate our people.
