Thanks for supporting Andover Haunted House
To the Editor:
On October 19-20, we held a Haunted House at the Andover Town Hall. It was a benefit for our Youth Program, a non-profit group for everyone from anywhere for ages one to 100. We call ourselves "The Adventurers."
Upstairs in the town hall was what we called the "Gentle Room" for the younger crowd, which included a Witch’s Forest, Pirate Cove, Princess Tent, Fortune Telling, and a variety of games. We also had so many wonderful homemade and donated treats in our Spider Web Kitchen.
Downstairs is another story. The Haunted House itself was not for the faint of heart. You were greeted by a psychic warning you not to enter. The guide took you through a cemetery inhabited by the dead, and not-so-dead. Next was a bingo game played by corpses and skeletons. After that was a room where a séance had gone horribly wrong. From there, you came into a butcher shop/torture room where there were many screaming victims and instruments of death. After that, a surprise head in a box and a room where all is not what it appears. Plus many shocking scares along the way.
Many hours were spent on the planning, set-up, operation, and de-construction. We were very blessed to have an awesome venue, an amazing turnout, raised lots of money, and scared the boogens out of many a victim!
Huge thanks to the following individuals, businesses, and families who contributed:
Angela Bouknight, Becky Collette, The Prentice Family, Pastor Jane Rich, Ann Morton, Brenda Lee Ross, Paula Smith, Elissa Lufkin, Fred Garbo, John Emery, David Smith, Sue Heffleman, Cindy Gammon, Amber and Esau Cooper, Donna Morse, Deanna and Bruce Fowles, Louise Jarvis, Dee Fields, Denise Cross, Jean Shaw, Julie Merrill, Aislyn Forbes, Nolan Fowles, Bing Cross, Peggy Madigan, Taran Vitale, Thomas Wright, Wayne Howe, Charlie Raymond, Dan Hart, Brianna Vitale, Lisa Gammon, Olivia York, Corey Collidge, Calvin Glover, Selena Cintron, Angel Cintron, Madison Smith, Peggy Madigan, Dax Hoff, Cece Gannon, Tristen Webber, Lynda Theriault, Chris Lawton, Justin Varnum, Clinton Lawton, Pete’s Hardware, LeighAnna Cluff, the Andover Congregational Church, Dunkin Donuts of Rumford, Ellis Pond Variety, Shaylee Morton, Melinda Averill, Hannaford of Rumford, Andover Board of Selectman and the Andover Town Office.
