The Basket Lady

In the Good Humor Town, two weeks into the New Year and Basket Lady would like to say “thank you” to folks for the countless ways that your donations, friendship, encouragement and kindness have been a blessing.

To try and sum up what basket lady has been able to do through your support in her mission to show others a kindness in word or deed, almost seems impossible to put in to words but I’ll give it a try.

A generous donation from the Stephens High School Alumni Association, and the Dr. Robert and Joyce Saisi family, made Basket Lady feel like a contestant who’d just won the grand prize on the Price Is Right because to see the joy on the faces of the following recipients was indeed, priceless: McKennel’s Animal Shelter, Two sisters’ feline rescue in Dixfield, Barbara Lane’s annual food drive in Peru, Rumford Police Dept., and numerous care and comfort gift baskets for individuals in the River Valley.

Basket Lady loves to see the joy dance of happiness and is very grateful to the River Valley and beyond for your continued support over the years.

Linda and Bill French sent a lovely Christmas card with a message about joy that spoke to my heart and I’m happy to share it with you.

Gifts of joy to you

The gifts we’ll remember don’t sparkle,

But shine a light on our times together.

They don’t wind up or make noise,

But whisper stories that make us laugh.

They don’t race, or climb, or jump,

But hold our hands and offer hugs.

Wishing you the most joyful gifts of the season…friendship, peace, love, and much kindness.

Remember the theme: Get a basket-Give a basket, and if anyone has any baskets, potpourri, or small stuffed animals and such that you can’t use, please contact the Basket Lady or the RFT’s.

Friend, show someone a kindness today. We miss you every day, Dot Sanchas, our lady of kindness.

Until then, smile and live in the present.
