Support for one true candidate

To the Editor:

Four individuals submitted papers for the two Rumford selectpersons terms.

I refrain from using the term candidate for as I see it there is only one true candidate, Jeffrey Sterling, who has attended nearly every meeting during his two years in office. None of the others attend any regular or special meetings including budget and wind.

None of them, not Frank DiConzo, not Jolene Lovejoy, not Eric Giroux has been willing to take the time over the past year to attend the meetings of the board they wish to be elected to so they can be prepared to serve those who might elect them being ready to step in and be active, informed, qualified voting member of the Board of Selectpersons on June 14. Electing any of these three will not serve in the best interest of the community.

With two vacancies and only one viable candidate, there is only one solution; the citizens of Rumford must look to choose a write-in candidate to represent them. With all that is going on in our town, we need a board comprised of people who have taken the time to attend all the meetings and be informed and are ready to go to work June 14 when the polls close.
