Issues and Activism caucus meeting
MEXICO -- The Oxford County Democrats will hold an Issues and Activism caucus meeting from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday at Region 9 School of Applied Technology.
The event is open to all interested in electing Democrats in 2012 and is one of a series of four Issues and Activism Caucus Meetings being held throughout the county. The theme of the River Valley Area meeting is the impact of the LePage administration agenda on collective bargaining and on working families, and the guest speaker is Emery Deabay, representing the Maine AFLCIO.
Deabay works at the Verso Mill in Bucksport. He is Secretary of USW Local 1188, Vice President of the Eastern Maine Labor Council, and serves on the board of the Maine AFL-CIO.
The caucus meeting will also include updates on the Obama and Michaud re-election campaigns, on candidate recruitment and planning for summer and fall events in the region. Additional information is available on the
