Happy Mother’s Day to all Mothers this Sunday and especially to my own mother, Love you Mom.
Hope Association is having their “Anything Goes” spring Craft Fair on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The facility is located at 85 Lincoln Avenue in Rumford. You can purchase a 4x6 photo for Mother’s Day (while the supply lasts). They will have children’s games, raffles, a Chinese Auction, jewelry, a cookie walk, crafts and food for sale. Face painting is available. Lunch will feature salami Italian with Potato chips. There will be a car wash (weather permitting) and the “Snake Man” will be making his appearance. The Briar Patch Greenhouse located at the same address will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and anyone age 12 or under can get a free potted or planted flower for mom while supplies last. The What Not Shop-Thrift Store is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can “fill a bag” of clothes for $5. For more information call 364-4561.
Franklin Savings Bank (Mexico and Rumford Branches) is having its annual Relay For Life BBQ on Friday, May 11. New this year the Mexico Branch will feature “Crockpot Classics.” The Rumford Branch will have a hotdog, potato chips, soda and a brownie for $5. Franklin’s own Benjamin the Bear will be making a special appearance for the kids. The Rumford Branch (364-7866) will be taking orders in advance for delivery to any business on the island. If you would like to sample the Crockpot Classics for a hot dish please stop by the Mexico Branch.
