The Fourth of July Celebration Committee met again last week and we are making good progress toward another successful Fourth of July fireworks/celebration at Hosmer Field. Fundraising is our main focus at this point. If you would like to donate toward the fireworks or have any ideas for a fundraiser please notify me at the number or email listed below.
The Oxford Federal Credit Union is sponsoring a Free Ski and Tubing night on January 26th at Black Mountain of Maine. Come and take advantage of what should be great conditions on our mountain.
On January 27, the What Not Shop/Thrift Store of 85 Lincoln Ave. is having a “Winter Wonderland Fashion Show” featuring their available fashions. Starting at noon the Glee Club will perform followed by the fashion show at 12:15 p.m. The Hope Association would like you to come and watch the staff and participants model some of the available fashions.
On February 9, the River valley Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a training program titled, “Understanding and responding to Freedom of Access Act (FOAA) Requests.” Under the current state law, all elected officials are required to complete a basic course concerning the FOAA. The trainer will be Dana K. Lee of Lee Facilitation Services. Cost is $45 per person (includes catered meal) and will run from 6 to 9 p.m. Call if there are any questions.
